We've picked 4 new mission organizations to support during Lent 2008. We invite you to give something up for Lent, and to redirect the money you would have spent to one of these 4 mission agencies:

	UMCOR Landmine Removal: Landmines are have devastating physical and psychological effects long after wars are over. They prevent people from returning to work, school, and even church. Your donation to UMCOR's landmine program will provide landmine sniffing dogs and removal equipment to help remove undetonated explosives from farmlands and villages. http://new.gbgm-umc.org/UMCOR/work/emergencies/ongoing/landmines/
	2. Henderson Settlement Located in Frakes, KY, the Henderson Settlement is a 100 year old mission of the Methodist Church. It provides economic, educational, and spiritual opportunities for some of the poorest counties in the U.S. Eric Yetter and Sarah Reid, a married couple from the Wyoming Conference, are currently serving there as long term volunteers. 	3. Danielle House: This local charity is located near Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. Danielle House provides a place to stay for family members of long term patients at Lourdes, Wilson, or Binghamton General Hospitals. http://www.daniellehouse.org
	4. The Bowery Mission The Bowery is a soup kitchen and rehabilitation center in New York City. Residents receive shelter and meals, as well as a chance to participate in drug rehabilitation and job skills programs. The Park Terrace Youth group spent a weekend serving at the Bowery last Spring. http://www.bowery.org
